aka "Tommy"

In May of 2005 an exciting new addition came to
Honeyfox from Faerie
Glen Corgis in California. Tommy
was four months old when he arrived, and seemed possessed of an
easy-going California style, trotting out of the airport like he
traveled across the country every day. He moved into the bottom
spot on the totem pole in his new pack’s hierarchy, and was
perfectly content being the new baby on the block. He spent his
first Summer playing with the older males, particularly his buddy
Will, and maturing, slowly but steadily.
Now at eleven months he
has blossomed into a handsome young fellow. He is a beautiful
moving dog with excellent length, beautiful bone,
and a level topline both standing and on the move. He has a lovely
outline and is true coming and going. And best of all he has
the sweetest, dearest, and most gentle, laid back disposition you
could
ask for in any dog.
He has been to just a few dog shows, and is beginning to think
that they’re
kind of fun. The weekend before Christmas we went to a large indoor all-breed
show, where he won Best of Winners and Best Pembroke Puppy, and then went
on to win the Puppy Herding Group!
In the extremely competitive
Best Puppy in Show class we all
showed our dogs to the judge, and after making her decision, she
wished all the exhibitors good luck in their future showing, and
said that “today it will be the Corgi!” As she stood
there with her hand extended, I think I was frozen to the spot.
When every one began shaking my hand and hugging me it started
to sink in that we had won. What an exciting Christmas present!
Tommy,
of course, took all the excitement in stride. He was more interested
in the dog cookies that filled the large crystal prize
he had won. He got to gobble up a number of them as his reward
for being such a good boy.
Stay tuned for more from Tommy. He’s
just getting started.
Tommy has a litter brother (Faerie
Glen Chance's Biloxi Bound) and sister (Faerie
Glen Mill'n Dollar Baby) who
are currently being shown very successfully in Colorado and
California.
